International Triumph - Top Gold, London IWSC

Moppity Vineyards has been awarded Top Gold for the newly released 2006 Reserve Shiraz at the world's most important wine show; the London International Wine and Spirit Competition. This year the show included wines from 80 countries and over 1,000 wines from Australia alone.  This result vindicates our belief that the Hilltops is a potential source of the world's great red wines.

Hilltops is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting viticultural regions in Australia. The high altitude, coupled with the dry summer and autumn, provides excellent ripening conditions. This enables the production of wines with great intensity of flavour and finesse.

Moppity Vineyards sits in the heart of the Hilltops region 12km SE of Young NSW, high on the slopes of Black Range at an elevation of 600m, and was among the foundation vineyards established in the Hilltops. The original blocks were planted in 1973, and produce exceptional fruit.

We carefully select the vineyard's very finest fruit, typically from the old, low-yielding vines - representing less than 5% of the total crop - for our wines. The remainder supplies the premium labels of other makers.
